Mayaram Raven
Mayaram Raven’s life journey has been one of resilience and perseverance, overcoming immense challenges with unwavering determination. At 60 years old, unmarried, Mayaram has faced more than his fair share of hardships. Losing his parents just last year was a devastating blow, compounding the grief of losing his brother a decade earlier. Despite these profound losses, Mayaram has refused to succumb to despair. Living alone and visually impaired for the past 20 years, with 75% blindness. Yet, his spirit remains undiminished. In his darkest moments, when it seemed like the weight of the world was too heavy to bear, Mayaram found solace in the kindness of his neighbors. They provided him leftover food whenever they are able to. However, two and half year ago, Mayaram’s life took a turn for the better when he became a beneficiary of the “Plate of Joy” project of Circle Of Care by lagni foundation. Through this project, Mayaram found a newfound sense of relief and security as he received two nutritious meals a day, free of charge, for the rest of his life. No longer did he have to rely solely on the goodwill of his neighbors; now, he had a steady source of sustenance that he could depend on which provides him toiletry kit and clothes. With the burden of worrying about where his next meal would come from lifted off his shoulders, Mayaram found renewed hope and optimism for the future. Despite his visual impairment and the losses he has endured, he continues to navigate life with grace and resilience.
